STARS, Inc. is excited to announce the introduction of a Women’s Health Program into our practice. After exclusive training and education, Michelle Tedman, PT-DPT is now skilled in the treatment of women’s health conditions (listed below). She is accepting patients of all ages in the therapy department at the Hiawatha Community Hospital.

 

We look forward to the potential value this brings to our local community and are eager to improve the quality of life of many patients suffering from pelvic related dysfunction. Treatment can consist of:

  • Pelvic floor strengthening

  • Pelvic floor lengthening

  • Biofeedback

  • Neuromuscular re-education

  • Bladder Re-training

  • Stretching or strengthening of pelvic girdle and trunk muscles

  • Aerobic exercise

  • Postural and functional training

  • Electrotherapy

  • Manual therapy

  • Thermal agents

 

Some common pelvic conditions include:

  • Pelvic Floor Tension Myalgia/ Overactive Pelvic Floor

  • Incontinence (Stress, Urge, or Mixed)

  • Sacroiliac pain

  • Bladder Pain syndrome

  • Pain with bowel or bladder functions, during menses, or during intercourse

  • Pelvic Dysfunction and Prolapse

  • Diastasis Recti Rehabilitation
